Skillet Fall Pork Chop’s, Apples & Onions

Pork chop, Apples & Onions

It’s apple season, who is excited? This skillet pork chop, apple & onion recipe is easy and tastes amazing! I wish you could smell my house right now. The aroma of apples and cinnamon makes me excited for the upcoming months. Fall is in the air and the stores are filled with fall decor and my kitchen smells like an apple pie!

Ways of cooking

This skillet meal can be made in an electric skillet as well as on the stove top. Be sure to have a large pan to have enough room for your ingredients. Cooking this in a cast iron would be amazing but in this instance I cooked it in my Temp-Tations electric skillet. I love this skillet, it’s non stick makes for easy cleanup and looks so nice on my counter. It’s a joy to cook in. If you want to get one for yourself you can here.

Ingredients

All you need is a few ingredients you most likely will have on hand this time of year. Pork chops, I chose boneless but you can use bone in, apples, an onion, fresh rosemary and sage, butter, chicken broth, dijon mustard and apple cider or apple juice. I did’t have fresh sage so I used poultry seasoning since it had sage in it and did a little sprinkle. I also used apple juice instead of apple cider, well because I had it on hand.

Directions

There are 2 main steps to this recipe. The first step is to brown the chops on both sides and set aside. Then you cook the apples, onions, herbs in the liquids. Once that is ready you add the pork chops back in and let saute covered with a lid for about 10 minutes or until apples are soft . The sauce cooks into the pork chops and make them nice and juicy and moist. I hope you enjoy this recipe!
