#5 Vacation Photo Options
Questions to ask: What type of vacation photos do I want? Do I want to buy Disney’s Memory Maker, use my own camera or both? Are there characters I need pictures with? Should we get professional family photos?
Disney Memory Maker
Disney Photo pass photographers photograph highlights of your Disney vacation in the parks and around the Walt Disney World Resorts. They are uploaded the Memory Maker option you can pre-purchase for $169.00. If you wait until you are there the price goes up! These include as many photos as you want as long as you use the photographers at every chance you can. Rides and some character meal photos are also included. You can download them right away and make special gifts after your trip as well. You pre purchase this option in the My Disney Experience website. If you are willing to take advantage of using the photographers its well worth the cost compared to buy individual prints in the parks.
Character Photos
Character are located throughout the park and sometimes at resorts as well at Character meals. Make a list of the must see characters to assure you get your photo taken. Check the daily guides and park maps for character locations. Don’t forget the autograph book too!
Magic Shot Photos
Located throughout the parks with Disney Photo pass photographers. These are fun photos where a character may appear or you look like you are flying away holding a bunch of Mickey balloons. Always ask for them, some photographers automatically add them and other do not unless you ask. All photo pass people are able to take magic shots so be sure to just ask” do you have any magic shots you can take for us?”.
Park Walls Photos
Fairly a new obsession. If you are an Instagram fan you may know about these. They are hidden throughout the parks. Some famous walls include the Purple wall, Popsicle wall, carousel of progress wall, you are most beautiful wall, bubblegum wall. Just google or search Instagram to get the idea and don’t miss out on these fun Instagram worthy photos.
Family Photos Opportunities
It’s a great time to get family portraits and photos done since you are all together as a family or group. There are several options from Disney photographer or local outside photographers, read my post here for photo options for family photos. If you do decide on the Memory maker package make sure you use the photographers to your advantage and don’t be afraid to ask for certain photos.
Camera Options
Whether you bring a SLR camer or a phone be sure to pack the correct accessories. Some supplies to think about packing are memory cards, tripod for fireworks photos, special lens and camera bag. If using your phone remember to bring a portable charger. Disney also sells chargers you can buy and trade in all day when it’s drained and you can get a new one. You don’t want to miss that perfect photo opportunity and your phone dies. Oh the horror!
