Disney Dining Reservations

#4 Disney Dining Reservations

Questions to ask: Do you need the Disney dining plan? Where to make reservations? What are the must do park snacks? Should I book character meals?

Do I need the Dining plan

You may have already decided but if not you need to decide if the Dining plan is for you. There are lots of opinions out there about as to if it’s worth doing or not. All I will say is it is up to you and what is best for your family. If you all love to eat at table service restaurants I would definitely consider a dining plan. You can read about the Walt Disney World dining plans here to decide and see if the cost benefits your family. Travel Agent help available.

Reservations

This is where the all import 180 day mark comes into play! Before that day be sure to view the dining options and Disney Dining menus here. Make a list and decide with your family where you want to dine such as character meals, in park restaurants and don’t forget about the amazing restaurants at Disney Springs! On that 180 day you need to book your dining reservation in your My Disney Experience website or call Disney Dining by phone at (407) WDW-DINE and make your reservations. Travel Agent help is available.

Celebrations

This can be done at the time you book your Disney vacation but if you didn’t you can attach it to your reservation anytime. I mention this is the dining sections because when you make your reservations you should always tell them what you are celebrating, whether it’s a 1st visit, birthday, anniversary, retirement, adoption. Whatever! Why because you never know what pixie dust will appear. I always say don’t expect anything but be prepared for occasional pixie dust. Travel Agent help is available

Special dietary needs

If any member of your family have special dietary needs let them know when making your reservations. Disney is wonderful at providing the perfect menu to match anyone needs. A chef will personally come out to talk to you about the needs and what they have to offer whether its gluten free, diabetic options and allergic free foods.

Other Dining Options

There are also Dinner shows , unique dining options and dessert events you can reserve. Dinner shows include The Hoop Dee Doo review, Mickey’s back yard BBQ and Polynesian Luau are such fun options. These also need reservations but worth mentioning because people don’t always have these on their radar and they are so fun. Our family’s favorite is the Hoop Dee Doo Review. You can also set up private dining if you are celebrating a special occasion. Travel Agent help is available.

Disney Snacks List

The list goes on and on and there are some fan favorites like the infamous Dole Whip, Mickey bar, Specialty cupcakes, giant cinnamon bun or Turkey leg. Be sure to make a list because trust me when you get there you will forget because there are snacks everywhere. If you are on the dining plan you can use your snack credit for many of these snacks. Don’t waste your snack credit on water!
