I don’t read many books. I don’t have time usually. I usually start books but never finish. I have never been much of a reader other than reading cookbooks and magazines. I probably read more online than anywhere else but something happened this week and I am not sure how but I am so grateful this book came into my life. So out of the blue I decided it would be a good idea to download an Audio book. Frankly it was only because I can listen to it while at work and I wanted a change-up from my music play list which lately consisted of the soundtrack from The Greatest Showman and the Trolls soundtrack of my 7 yr old.
I remember seeing a few friends online post about this book. So I decided to look it up on Amazon. I didn’t even know what it was all about but knew since these friends were part of my direct sales world who are influential in what they do it was sure to be good. I decided to download it and listen. I finished the book in 3 days at work! I don’t finish any book in 3 days except for my 7 yr olds son’s book collection!
The book is called “Girl, Wash your face!” by Rachel Hollis. Folks, you must be sitting under a rock like I was up until 3 days ago if you have not heard of it. This book is a #1 best seller and there is a Movie event with Rachel Hollis called Made for More you can attend on August 13 at your local theatre. Let me just tell you if you have not read this book, you must! Weather you are a young adult, single, married, divorced, a mom, a grandmother you need to read this book. You will rethink your life and stop believing the lies. I highly recommend the audio version because it is told by the author Rachel Hollis herself.
It’s a journey to have a better more meaningful life and be a better you and stop believing the lies. Its her journey and story and how she became a better version of herself. it resonated with me so much, from her going through traumatic experience to never accepting NO’s and finding other ways as well as growing a business. She even ran a Disney half marathon like I did! She exposes her own life out on the table and I mean all out just to help other women realize their potential. I love her authentic , honest self so much it made me wake up and think about not breaking promises I make to myself. So I decided right away I don’t want to break promises so I signed up for Zumba this fall with my Tribe of friends to help keep myself accountable as well. Just creating this blog is another promise I made, to be consistent even if no one reads it, there might be that one person it helps make a dinner or plan their next Disney vacation. It will make your rethink you life in ways you haven’t before.
You can purchase the book here in hard copy or audio form.
