A fall favorite, this is a classic apple pie made with a special sauce that makes this the perfect crowd pleaser.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2. Melt butter in saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla nutmeg . Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce temperature and let simmer 2 minutes.
4. Place pie crust in bottom of pie pan.
8. Mix syrup with apples in bowl reserving a little syrup to brush on top of crust. Work fast while syrup is hot. Fill Pie crust will apple mixture and place remaining pie crust on top. Brush reserved syrup on top of pie crust just enough to coat.
9. Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 35-45 minutes or until apples are soft and crust is golden. Once pie is almost done sprinkle a little extra cinnamon sugar on top of crust. Serve warm and enjoy!
