DIY Farmhouse Storage Rack-Thrifty Finds

This budget Farmhouse Storage Rack is the perfect addition to any farmhouse style home and it’s easy. I am so pleased how my thrifty find came out with just a little chalk paint. I just love going to thrift stores, yard sales and flea markets to see what treasure can be found. I don’t always have time but this past few weekends with my mom visiting from New Jersey we found the time to hit up some places and some didn’t disappoint. This is gong to be a quick post but I hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think! The find This find was one I was not expecting to purchase or even thought about it until I saw it. We are in the middle of replacing our floors and making over our living room and I am going for the farmhouse look. I saw this old ugly magazine rack that needed a new life and thought that would be cute chalk painted. I never used chalk paint before but already watched YouTube on how to do it and distress it and it was so easy. Maybe someday I will post a how to but I wasn’t expecting to post about this so I never took in between pictures. Its pretty simple, paint, lightly sand with sand paper or wet towel and wax. What I Did and cost I paid .99 cents for the magazine rack at the Goodwill. Yes, you heard me .99 cents. I was going to paint my own sign in which I found a sign to paint for $1 but came across this cute sign at Walmart for $4.95 that I used the wire it came with to attached to rack. The spray chalk paint I already had on hand. A little goes along way. To distress I just used some light sand paper or a wet cloth works too. I rubbed on edges or where I wanted it to look distressed. What is great is if you mess up or don’t like it you can just repaint and try again. So this cute little project cost me just under $6. So I initially intended it for my bathroom to hold towel but it turned into a farmhouse style kitchen holder for now anyway. There are so many ways to use this, for flowers, Cook books, garden tools, files, school papers, books, towels, flip flops at the beach, blankets etc. I will be making more! Stay tuned. I hope to put up more DIY and Thrifty finds on here in the future. I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what else you would use these for? Do you thrift? What was your best find?
