Fun at Disney without a theme park ticket…we did it!

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort without a theme park ticket can be so much fun! We recently traveled to the Walt Disney Resort in April with some friends. We are annual pass holders but our friends where not. Since we were doing a pre cruise stay at Disney’s Copper Creek resort 2-bedroom villa for the weekend we made our plans outside of all the theme parks. This was one of our first non park visit and it was just as amazing if a little  more relaxing and just as enjoyable as visiting the parks character included! It doesn’t matter if you visit a theme park or not there is so much to do at Walt Disney World. Here is brief  pictorial rundown of our weekend stay and what we accomplished without using theme park tickets. If you have ever done this I would love to know what you love to do at the Walt Disney Resort. Even if you are visiting a park it’s always great to have a non theme park day to enjoy the rest of the fun activities and resorts you may miss by being in a park all day. That is why I always suggest plan at least a break to go back to your resort for a rest or dip in the pool or plan a park free day during your stay.  Disney Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort  We loved everything about this resort. We have always been a fan of Disney’s Wilderness lodge but this took our love to another level!  It was our first time staying at Copper Creek and it was just amazing. That window, yes a window above the tub is so beautiful! We had a great view on our balcony of the pool area.  Ohana Character Breakfast at Disney’s Polynesian Resort This is a popular dinner venue but it happens to be one of my favorite character breakfasts which our friends had not been before! It’s so relaxing with the Hawaiian music and your get served unlike some other character meals where you have to get up to go to the buffet. Plates of fresh fruit, amazing pineapple bread and your favorite breakfast items are served to your table including Mickey and Stitch waffles.  Characters were Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto!  The kids got up and did a parade with mickey too. We love the juice served which is a mix of passion, guava, orange and pineapple juice. By the time we left we were overloaded with “the juice” because our server kept bringing more and we could not get enough! lol                    Monorail ride After breakfast at Ohana we decided to take the kids on a ride on the monorail to Epcot and back. That gave us the chance to see some of the beautiful flowers and landscapes at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival which was taking place.  Disney Springs We headed to Disney Springs for a short visit. It was short because we ended up visiting the Jack Lindsey’s Hangar Bar to have some drinks and check out the place. A new additional to Disney Springs. The back story is Jack Lindsey ,Indiana Jones  side kick pilot built this airplane hangar and this is what was left. This was a very cool place with so many props and things to explore. We even got to sit in the diving bell table for a quick drink. The kids were provide some fun non alcoholic drinks as well but we had to hurry to get back to the pool to swim. Hoop De Doo Dinner Show This is always a favorite and we were excited to introduce it to our friends traveling with us. Everyone had a good ole time! We headed over on the one of the boats to Fort Wilderness. What is not to love about this classic dinner show. Its funny and entertaining and the food is always good! We had a picky eater in the group and they gladly brought him out a PB&J sandwich.  Resort Activities We spent some of the day relaxing at the resort, doing a little shopping, swimming in the amazing pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge before we headed out to dinner. After dinner the kids roasted marshmallows at the campfire at the resort and off to bed. The next day we had to get up bright an early to head to Miami to get on board the Disney Magic!             It was a fun packed day and we could have used more days to explore more non park activities and places. When we have a little more time we will spend more time in Disney Springs, play mini golf and the guys can even go for a round of golf and the ladies can do some resort hopping. Resort hopping is especially fun during the holidays to see the beautiful trees and decorations! So whether you have a short trip and don’t have time to visit a theme park or just plan a non park day there is plenty to do and see outside the Disney theme parks.  Up next out Disney Marvel day at Sea Cruise on the Disney Magic!
