AR Workshops- a DIY lovers dream come true!

AR workshops a DIY lovers dream come true! Have you heard of AR  workshops? AR stands for Ander and Ruff which are two women graphic designers who created this space for us. This is boutique DIY studio that offers hands-on classes for creating custom, charming home decor. It’s a crafters’ dream come true! It is perfect for a group outing, celebrations, girls night out or couples night.    I was so excited to find out an AR Workshop was opening just 3 miles from my house. Being an Etsy shop owner I love anything DIY!  I have never attended one before and was looking forward to experience it. After all it’s not too often I get to have time to do my own DIY projects.  How to sign up! The first thing you do is shop online for the workshop you want to attend and make your reservation. Then you get to browse and pick your project.   There are hundreds of projects to choose from  large signs, small signs, trays, lazy-susan to boxes that are all customizable! They just recently release their Fall and Holiday projects as well! The experience! I had the pleasure to recently attend an AR Workshop in Pickerington, OH, which is owned by Michelle Plumby. The AR workshop space is welcoming, inspiring and charming. I could totally see myself working here! A DIYers paradise! The workshop showcased many project ideas as well as merchandise to purchase like jewelry, candles and tumblers.  Five of my friends came along for a fun girls night out. We are all mom’s of boys so doing things like this doesn’t happen as often as attending sports practices and games.  It’s also BYOB friendly so we brought some adult beverages, appetizers and sweets to nibble on in between. When we arrived which was at 6:30 pm our projects we had previously picked out was set up at a large table for us. We had booked this over a month ago so it was a surprise to my design I picked because I totally forgot! There was an assistant walk us through every step we needed to do to complete our project including the power tools.  We first sanded, stained and for some of us we had to  build our projects. I chose the serving tray. For some reason you felt so empowered using those power tools!                           Our assistant was great and helped us with suggestions for stains and paint colors. Michelle, the owner, popped over too with suggestions. They knew what colors would show up well based on our projects paint stains we chose. We couldn’t have done t without their help.  Finished project sucess! By the time our projects finished drying it was 9:30pm. It’s amazing how different everyone’s projects came out and they all look fantastic!. It was a fun night out  and a great experience I can’t wait to do again! I think its time for a fall project next!  Be sure to book your AR workshop before your dates fill up because there is limited space. You can see if there is one in your area here.  Have you done a workshop before?
